Fancy Pants vacation page

I love this line with it's fun statues.  I used the chipboard for a simple banner and added other pieces to accent the photos and journal block.

Whistler Starbucks

I used a wonderful line of kraft papers printed with coffee themed designs. I spotted it at Unforgettable Memories and knew it would be perfect for our Starbuck's photos. The title is cut out of the 'word' paper.  I love the strip of cups.

Oops, the twine is across Daniel's face.  It's not glued there.

Two single page layouts

A fun photo of Duncan and Breanna in Quesnel.  This was a quick and easy page CASE'd from the latest Scrapbook & Cards issue.

Lynette had copies of this photo developed for each of the Design Team to scrap.  This is my version.  Lots of layering and bits & pieces. BoBunny, Prima, MLYB, buttons, bottlecaps...

Bo Bunny and Freestyle scrapbooking

A couple more pages from last weekends Blueberry Crop with Unforgettable Memories.

I started off with plain green cardstock.  Drew in the brown lines with the edge of my ink pad and misted the title using my mask alpha.  The papers are BoBunny.  The tissue paper is 7 Gypsies.  And various embellishments are from my stash.  Some I've had for years.  So great to use it up :)

I've scrapped these photos in my Smash journal so I could afford to try some new techniques and get a little crazy on this page.  I really like how it turned out with the green mist and tree masks, the big blue splotches and all the bling.

A couple of cousin layouts

I spent the weekend out at the Blueberry,at a Scrapbook Retreat put on by Unforgettable Memories.  My goal was to finish 6 double page layouts, and I did it.  Though four of those layouts were for my sister and only two for my albums. Her photos just worked with the latest papers I had picked up from the store.

Her boys love to bike. I've left room for Tan to journal on Wade's layout.  The other one I did the journaling for.

I love this Echo Park line.  It is called 'for the record 2' and it's perfect for boy pages.  On the page above I created a banner using the sayings and notecard paper.  Lots of stickers and chipboard come with this line.

On the page below I used up almost the entire sheet of chipboard pieces and then I used the empty chipboard sheet on the right page.
I especially love the chipboard bike.

Misted background

I love how this background turned out.  I misted gold, pink, blue and green after wetting my white cardstock thoroughly, so it all blurred together.  Unfortunately the camera picks up the glitter and makes it look hard, but IRL the background is very soft and hazy looking.  Really gorgeous.

The photos are of my MILs garden.

So happy to see you

Lots of paint and mist on the background.  It was kind of fun, but messy, working on it.

A couple more Smash Journal pages

Breanna dyed Emily's hair with crimson streaks the evening before Em's birthday.  This page in my Smash Journal was perfect for these pics. I put lots of sparklies on the page to girly it up.

The one day we had that wasn't gorgeous and hot we went to the rec center and swam indoors.  Most of the kids and Grandad had a lot of fun splashing around.  I used some old Cosmo Cricket stickers and MM tags strung on some bakers twine.  A really quick page.

A Smashing good morning to you

It's my day off so I have done a couple more pages in my Smash journal of Whistler.

Lots of journaling on these pages.  The top photo lifts up with more journaling underneath.

It's a dreary day here.  Very wet and overcast so difficult to get a good photo of my pages.
I'm having fun with these little pages.  I love the right page of the girl cousins getting wet.  I sprayed my tree mask and the rest came toghether in about 10 minutes.

Smash journal pages ~ a couple more

A couple more pages.  Breanna and I spent one morning looking around the shops in Whistler Village buying gifts and a couple items for ourselves.  I bought two new blouses for work which are now my two favourites.  I've worn them lots.  I put a pocket on the page to save receipts...

And now I'm scrapping some pictures of our Nita Lake adventure.  We took lots of photos that day so I will do a couple more pages on this neat spot that Mum and Dad discovered quite by accident.

Whistler SMASH Journal

I have a few pages started in my K&Co 'baby' Smash Journal.  Yes, I bought the baby themed journal and didn't realize it till I got home.  But I'm making it work.

The first page is pictures of our drive south.  I didn't want to do all the driving so we put the extra insurance on the truck so Duncan could drive with his 'N'.  It was tough getting a turn behind the wheel after that.  Duncan loves to drive and is a very good driver.

This next page is the journaling for our trip down.  I didn't plan, just wrote. 'Stream of consciousness' journaling.  The page was already decorated with the patterned background and the images of kids playing.  I just added a little tape, and a couple of epoxy stickers.

I like how this page turned out.  When Duncan told me he was taking his bike I had a half dozen excuses why he couldn't/shouldn't.  I'm so glad he insisted.  He got lots of use and had a lot of fun in Whistler on his bike.  There are paths everywhere and he even got to go up the Mt. on two days and bike with my sister and her family.

There are a few more sights in Whistler since the Olympic Games were there.  Like the Olympic rings which we had to pose in/on.

This Smash page was very baby themed.  The left side is a picture of a baby in a crib.  I covered most of it up.  The right side said 'Just Hangin' in my crib'.  I covered the crib part and left the rest for my title.

I have a couple more pages in progress.  Will up load them ASAP.

My men

I sprayed green mist over a mask down one side of my layout.  I then used orange and grey crayon to further accent the mask design. LOVE how it turned out!

Proud Grandma

The background patterned paper is by Karen Foster Designs.  I started distressing the edges and it ripped so I backed it with a mustard yellow Bazzill cardstock and distressed even more.

I used an old credit card to swipe the yellow paint on the background. I used that as a base to layer under my photo.

The theme for my boys' grad was Hollywood so I had to use more film embellishements.  These strips are sticky backed fabric film strips called FabRips by Studio Calico.

Love the yellow and purple flower and the matching butterfly in the top right corner.  They are by Prima.
The little flowers are Petaloo.  Great colour.

I used a couple of different sticker fonts for my title.  The Quote card with the 'ma' on it slides out.  I've put my journaling for the page on it.

Isn't the butterfly perfect?  Very rustic looking.  It matches the flower in the first closeup.

Prom 2012 with Karen Foster and Sandy Lion

I stamped and misted on this layout.  Love how the background turned out.

Turtles, turtles and more turtles

It's finished.  Rick will be happy to get all my scrappy stuff off the dining room table...  Maybe after I finish the Prom layout :)

Lots of old (Making Memories, Creative Imaginations) and new (Teresa Collins, Karen Foster, Fancy Pants) patterned papers.
I love the wood bullrushes by Kaiser.

I managed to find places for lots of little creatures on this layout.  Punched dragon flies, Sandy Lion owl, Prima velvet rub-on bird and those neat ceramic mushrooms. I used my corner bulrush stamp with brown ink on the background and gold ink on the tags.

Off to work on my Prom layout before Rick insists I clean up the table.

K & Co. Smash journal

We had a Smash and Mash night at Unforgettable Memories last Friday.  I finished a few pages.

The first is my boys in their tux's looking oh so cool :)

And a picture of my kids, Rick & I, and my parents.  The first time in over 7 years that we've all been in the same place at the same time.

A page of me.  Haven't done the journaling yet.  Need to think of something clever to say...

And poor duncan suffering through an allergic reaction to we're not sure what...
I'm going to put a picture of Duncan and his new RAV4 on the other side of this page.

Graduation 2012

My first layout of my boys' graduating ceremonies.  First of many.  We have loads of great photos thanks to Grandad and my friend Lilia.

It was so neat to walk the Grand March with a handsome graduate on each arm.  When the march was over and the dancing began Duncan left Daniel and I to dance, while he went in search of one of his Grandma's for a dance.

Vancouver

One for my sisters album.

The papers and chipboard pieces are by Fancy Pants.

Sunday, 20 May 2012

a Princess is born.

I loved this Karen Foster patterned paper as soon as I saw it. It is so pretty and girly. I didn't want to cover up too much of it so I layered everything under and around my one photo.

This photo is from 1998. The day we bought our baby girl home. Her two brothers were so thrilled and happy to show her off to their friend; that little cutie sitting between them.

My, how time flies. Those two little boys are graduating this year. And one of those handsome dudes gets to take that little cutie, sitting between them, to the prom. She is still as cute as she was way back in 1998.

My layers under the photo include a Jenni Bowlin bingo card, two pieces of packaging from Prima's flowers, a couple of sprayed and misted tags (one I've journaled on), some cheese cloth, a MLYB journal card and some corrugated cardstock. On the photo I've placed a piece of vellum with 3 butterflies punched out of it, and some word stickers.

Heron

My Dad took this beautiful picture of the Heron.

I used My Little Yellow Bicycle's papers, and chipboard bits and pieces.
The red paper is leftover BoBunny from the Oriental 'Serenity' line.

I love the mushroom.  It's Prima as are the little flowers.

The bling is Zsa.

Friday, 4 May 2012

I found this old photo of my brother and I, when we were kids. I hope my children are having as great a childhood as I did.

Technology was pretty primitive(if it even existed) when I was growing up so we spent most of our days out in the yard. We had a huge back yard at 30 Newhaven Terrace. Dad built us a metal jungle gym to climb on, a flying fox to fly down, a swing (from a tree branch, not a swing set) and we had a mud pit full of Tonka's. After I did this layout I 'google mapped' our old house. There are now 2 more homes in our old backyard and very little 'yard'. Progress.

I used BoBunny's Serenity line for this layout. It's Oriental themed, but perfect for many different photos. I love the turquoise. The corner piece is cut from one of the patterned papers I had left over from my last layout.
I used a piece of Bazzill dotty cardstock in fawn. I sprayed my favourite leaf mask with gold glimmer mist. Then I sprayed a diecut alpha piece with green mist. I stamped a lattice design randomly, around the edges.

My Mum wrote on the back of the photo so I used photo corners instead of glue to attach it to the matte.

The tissue paper is 7Gypsies and the doilie is from My Little Yellow Bicycle. All came from Unforgettable Memories.

Origami Baby ~ Beyond the Door challenge

This is the inspiration at Beyond the Door challenge blog this month.  Black and white and turquoise squares. Love it.

And here's my layout...

The photos are of my friends daughter in a Kimono for Halloween.  Perfect for the BoBunny 'Serenity' line.

April 123 Challenge

I played along with the April 123 Challenge.
  1. COLOUR: MINT
  2. WORD: BELIEVE
  3. TECHNIQUE: BEADS

I did a two page layout using the Simple Stories baby line.
I used lots of mint green colour.  The beads are in the flower centers and the word 'believe' is in my long title.  It says "I believe we have a new angel in our midst. baby Luka"

April challenges ~ here I go...

Rick and Breanna are on their way to Vernon, Daniel is working and Duncan is having a lazy day so I hauled half my scrapbook room up to the dining room table this morning and found an early April challenge posted.

Here's the sketch I found at Stuck?!

And here's my layout
My cute little Breanna at 3 months old.  I printed the photo on cardstock.

The papers and stickers are all Simple Stories baby line.
Heart brads are Bazzill.
Flower and bling is Prima.
My background is masked and misted with blue Chalkboard mist and cherub pink Glimmer mist.
Musical notes are transparent tape by Tim Holtz.

White plus 1 challenge

There's a challenge blog called White with 1.  This week the colour combo is white with kraft.  Here's my layout...
This is pretty messy for me, but I like how it turned out.
I misted the kraft background with white Mr Huey's and my scroll masks.
The tissue paper is 7Gypsies and so pretty.  It has butterflies and bird cages and postmarks all over it.
I put some white Maya Rd rubons around the edges and then thought they were too white so I painted them with 'latte' metallic Maya mist.

The journaling is on the Family Memories card behind the photo.  It's about these two being the only girls in the family for the younger generation.  I hope they grow up to be good friends.

A month of challenges.

I'm going to try and get a scrapping challenge done a week.  This week I picked the sketch at Stuck?! Sketches.

I never got into Sobeys to get pictures of Duncan working his first job, in produce. But I did get in to Staples and embarass poor Daniel.  He'll be glad I did... in a hundred years or so :)

The papers, chipboard and tickets are all My Little Yellow Bicycle.

Using my scraps ~ a two page layout

I've been working on some pages with those photos you sent me, Mum.  Here's one of Emily enjoying Angel Food cake desert.

The big chipboard pieces are Basic Grey.  I used lots of this chipboard last year on Christmas layouts but still had lots left over for my banner and around the title.

Thursday, 23 February 2012

After looking at it all week, I decided it wasn't finished.  I pulled out some blue bakers twine and outlined my doily mask so it popped a little more.  Some red snowflakes with bling centers and I think I'm going to call it finished...

MR. GRINCH

A layout for my brother's album.

I used lots of scraps on this page.  And I love how it turned out.

I sprayed white Mr Huey's ink over a big doily for the background and then added bits and pieces of papers I've had in my scrap stash.
