My boys

I found this photo and wanted to scrap it. They were such cuties. Now they're teens and handsome rather then cute.

July 25

Breanna had her hair done at the Beauty Salon this morning. She got some length taken off and had it layered. It looks beautiful. She loves how much lighter it is and can't wait to play with different products to get different looks. She has already taken off with my mousse.

And here are my lilies blooming alongside my driveway. The garden is looking particularly pretty this year. The purple poppies and pink selene are volunteers. They look so bright and cheerful amongst my perennials.

The work on our new entry way started on Thursday. The big concrete pad in front of our door had to be jackhammered out because it was rebarred in to the house foundations. Rick was hoping to use it as a new shed pad. Darn ~ we don't get ANOTHER shed built in our crowded backyard. Then they dug out all the dirt and clay beneath and have poured the concrete foundations. The size of that hole is about how big our new entry way will be. I am so looking forward to having that extra room. The windows and doors are all on order and they are going to start framing next week.

Fishing for the BIG

Both my boys go fishing with their Dad. Duncan seems to enjoy it more, maybe because he is more successful. Both these photos are from this past month. The first page is Daniel on Williston Lake trying to get a bite without success.

And this second page is Duncan with his catch.
Both pages are made with Bo Bunny products ~ patterned paper, brads, and stickers. You can see the pages hanging in Unforgettable Memories.

Quill

I finally got the layout finished.
The patterned papers are Bella Blvd. I did this layout for Unforgettable Memories. I did a How-To for the Unforgettable Memories blog on creating my chipboard title, handcut frame, and the 'tree' (I recycled the backing from the Prima felt branch I used in my Water Boy layout below).
The journaling reads:
He's prickly and bites.
He doesn't like attention
and won't come when he's called.
He makes weird noises.
He wants to sleep all day
and run on his squeaky wheel
all night.
But my kids are pretty excited
about their newly adopted pet.

Water Boy

Here's a page I did for the last 'Scrapping to the Oldies' challenge at www.scrapcentral.ca I used Heidi Swapp alpha masks for the word 'boy' on my lower photo and sprayed with 'soot' Glimmer Mist.

What's prickly and bites?

Our new pet.
His name is Quill. He belonged to my friends daughter, but she became allergic to him so my kids got lucky and have inherited him.

He came with the 'Guide to owning an African Pygmy Hedgehog'. Both the boys have read it from cover to cover and now consider themselves experts. Apparently you can change their natural nocturnal habits by keeping them awake all day, so that's what my three have been doing. They've fenced off parts of the garden so he can wander freely through the plants and eat bugs.

He's an African Pygmy Hedgehog. He's only bitten hard enough to require a bandaid once. Poor Breanna. Did you notice there are no pictures of her holding him :)

In the clover...

or maybe not.
Tikanii is quite fascinated, but smart enough to keep his distance.

Happy Birthday, Breanna

My baby is 11 years old today. She's been busy organizing her own party for the past week. We've visited the dollar store where she filled a basket with treats for the goody bags, some festive leis for party guests to wear and props for the games she is planning. She has changed her mind about the menu half a dozen times, but I think we've finally settled on Honey/garlic Chicken with Carrot Rice. The camping trip has been cancelled because of poor weather and because the Captain is still 'under the weather', though he's back home. So she's having a sleepover at home.
