Christmas in July

Christmas in July was celebrated at www.createmykeepsakes.com this past weekend. I only had time to participate in one challenge. I made a candy can jar out of a Prima Flowers container and a matching card.

I also made a start on Daniel's photos from his recent trip to Victoria. Mum and Dad took him to the Titanic Exhibition at the Victoria Museum. This layout was for a 2-4-6-8 Challenge. 2 Photos - 4 papers(3CS & 1PP) - 6 embellishments (buttons) - 8 rubons (letters for 'titanic' and 'd')

Breanna's new 'do'

This is Breanna before her haircut. Her hair is so thick and heavy. She wouldn't let me near her with a hairbrush and the poor hairdresser discovered that, while Breanna was combing the top layer of hair, it was a matted, tangled mess underneath.

Now it's truly wash and wear! And it looks cute too :)

Air Show

We had a crowd over for the airshow on Wednesday night. The ladies and kids sat on the shed roof to watch and the men climbed up on the garage roof. It really was a great show!

A new look

Got my hair cut yesterday. Had Breanna take a few photos. Love how my stylist layered the back! When I got home Breanna said to me, "We should go clothes shopping, and then we should go visit Lilia. If you took something other than fruit salad she wouldn't even recognize you". I think that's a hint that I need to come up with some other desert recipes. LOL

I'm getting lots of compliments. I like the back view better than the front! We were having a glass of wine before dinner and Breanna joined us. She filled her wine glass with ice water than proposed a toast. "To Mum's good hairday". Clink! Clink! Clink!

Another quick layout

This will go beside the 'Adrenaline Rush' layout of the boys at West Edmonton Mall with their Grandparents.

Still scrapbooking.

I did lots of one page layouts over the weekend. I like to put two pagers in my album so now I'm making matching layouts. This one will go opposite the one of Breanna covered in Sunscreen. I'm about the same age in these photos. The journaling is taken directly from the back of the photo. What Mum wrote all those years ago.

More ScrapCentral challenges

Another day of scrapping.
I finished the Christmas in July Challenge. Duncan was being so ornery in this picture, but I snapped it anyway. Xmas 1995.

I made a Friend card...

What summer means to you Challenge...

And a Summer Tag...

Challenges at Scrap Central

The first challenge I finished today was a colour challenge. Do a layout with turquoise, orange and white...
The photo is of Breanna at 2 years old. She found the sunscreen and tried to apply it herself. A BIG MESS!

The next challenge was to use tranparency...

I scanned it first to show all the detail.

Then I had Breanna hold it up to show how neat the transparent parts look. I'll have to get a frame for it because the transparency will lose it's neat effect in an album.

The third challenge I finished today was to scrap a summer tradition...

These are pictures of Duncan and Daniel at the West Edmonton Mall. They were on their annual road trip with Grandma and Papa last summer.

Thursday 5 July 2007

There's a crop this weekend.

At ScrapCentral.ca and I'm getting my challenges ready.
My first challenge will be 'build your layout on your photo'. We were boating on the river last week and had a close encounter with a bear. We were too busy freaking to think about getting a good picture so I took photos of the area after the bear had gone. I enlarged one photo to a 10x12 and journaled the story in the sky and water. I found a bear charm by American Traditional Designs.

My second challenge will be 'do a layout of yourself ~ present or past'. I'm still working on pictures of me as a child so I put together a quick one of me at age 2.

Our new Fort

Rick and the boys have been busy framing walls, scrounging up old windows and doors, painting and hammering. And look at what they built. So much fun. There's bunk beds for sleepovers, a table and chairs, and most importantly electricity so they can watch their movies and play their gamecube long after any supervising adults have gone to sleep.

Duncan and Daniel have pretty much moved out there. Though they were booted out for a night when Breanna had her girlfriends over for a sleepover on her birthday, July 2nd. She was the first one to head inside to her own bed before it was even fully dark. Then her friend next door ran home to her Mum. So only 4 girls slept all night in the Fort.

This is going to be one hot spot, rain or shine, this summer!
