Sketchy Thursdays ~ Jump for Joy

I found this sketch site last week through Diana's blog via 2peas.  Loved this weeks sketch so I decided to play along.
Here's mine using more of the Quick Quotes papers from yesterdays layout.  I used the Prima bling stems and leaves for my flowers. The flowers are short strips of pp threaded onto a brad and scrunched.  So easy and cute.

The journaling got cut off on the bottom by my scanner. It reads: The jolly jumper hung between the living & dining rooms.  From there she could see everyone as they came and went.

So go check out Sketchy Thursdays and play along!  I'd love to see your take on this sketch.

Tag, You're It.

I've been hanging out at 2Peas lately.  Checking out all the challenges in the forums.  I started this one for the January Scraplift challenge.  It began life as a scraplift of this layout, but I couldn't keep it this clean and be satisfied with it.  So it evolved.
And then I stumbled across the 52 more scrapbooking challenges #3 thread  ~ to sew on photos within a layout ~ and the ScrapJacked site that had the sewing but with a twist.  I love the way the sewing meanders across Caroline Rondel's layout. I saw her twisty turny stitching and it all came together.  Love it when that happens.
My sewing machine has been sitting on my dining room table since I did a little mending a couple weeks ago.  Yes, Rick has complained about it a few times, but it was still there.  So I threaded it with red and stitched my butterfly flight paths.  I really like how it turned out!

Photos are from this summer when my brother and his family came up for a visit.  We took them to the WAC Bennett Dam for a tour.  It's a couple hours drive so the kids needed to get rid of some excess energy before the long drive home.

The patterned papers are all Quick Quotes.  The background was too pink for me so I brushed some paint on and then swiped my black ink pad around the edges.   The title is some chipboard I got at CKC in really wierd colours and patterns ~ I bet Mum's is still untouched.  I covered them with some of the Quick Quotes paper.
Lots of Prima flowers and jewels.

Deary, deery me.

Look who's living in our backyard.  There are five of them and they come by every evening for dinner.  They feed under the birdfeeders.

This little guy is one of last years babies.

I took the photos through the kitchen window so they're a little out of focus.  I played around in Corel PaintShop to get rid of the blue tinge, lighten them up a bit and to try and sharpen them.  I'll try and get some better shots this evening before it gets dark.

Uncle Kim's backhoe

Both my boys got to drive my brothers new toy last summer ~ or at least they got to sit in the drivers seat.
I did this layout a while back, but didn't scan it before taking it in to Unforgettable Memories.  So here it is...

The papers are all Cosmo Cricket.  I covered the Maya Rds chipboard trees with paper and inked them.  The clouds I sketched free hand on to patterned paper and then cut out.

Updated

I had this hanging in my entryway for a few days.  I kept looking at it, loving the colours, but feeling like something was missing.  I pulled it down over the weekend and stuck some bling on it.  Much better!

Now I need to take a trip to my LSS and restock my bling tin.  I'm running low on the pinks.

Ahoy

We're having a quiet day at home today.  Rick was on night shift last night so he's sleeping.  Daniel, Breanna and I went out and shovelled the driveway.  It's been snowing for three days, but only very lightly so there was only an inch or two to scrape off. And I've spent the rest of the day in my scraproom working on this page.
Breanna looks so grown up in this photo.  Only 10 years old, but she's got a wonderful, confident smile.

I used some left over Creative Imaginations pirate paper and Bo Bunny product on this page.
